050 | Mr Nicholson, as well as other respectable authorities states that tradition speaks of a Church having once stood here which was dedicated to ST Andrew, and also it is believed that it was surrounded by a Graveyard, as a quantity of human bones was fund not many years ago Convenient to its site. Nothing now remains to indicate its existence. It is supposed that the new Goal and Court house has been erected, on or about the spot where it stood. |

It was exchanged some by the Earl of Selkirk with the Corporation of the Burgh of Kirkcudbright for a field in the South side of the Burgh which lay near his Lordship's mansion |
