A good spring well, about 3 feet in diameter and 6 feet in depth, it is said that it has name in Consequence of the inhabitants of the priory of St. Mary's Isle, which used to frequent it for the purpose of washing their butter (hence the name) the Well was for many years covered & nearly forgot, but the wells belonging to Park farm house having become dry, and through which Circumstance, butter well was reopened. Its waters is of Excellent quality, And is Situated a few yards to the West of Park farm house. |
