A neat Cottage in good repair on the farm of Kirkchrist. It has been formerly used as a place for grinding Malt for the distillery which at one time stood convenient to it hence the name.

A house two Storeys high slated & in good repair, used as a public house or Inn, with out house attached used as Stabling etc. The property of the Earl of Selkirk. It is traditionally handed that [it] is built upon the Site of an old Sod house which also has been Occupied as an Inn & greatly resorted to by by the Towns people, hence the name.-
