A large pool in the River Dee north of Hell's hole it has a sandy bed for which reason it is sometimes called 'The sand bed'. It is the only pool in the Tongueland fishery that the draught net is used; great quantities of salmon [and] sea trout are caught here, in some seasons 250 salmon in one draught have been taken from this pool by this means. |
