Samuel Thompson Gaigrie via Auchencairn		 A considerable Hill on the farm of Potterland from which it takes its name it is thickly planted with Fir & Forest wood this hill is very steep and precipitous approaching to Heughs in appearance it lies between the streams called Potterland Burn & Potterland Lane, and on this hill is Potterland Wood.
