This name applies to the site of an ancient Chapel and grave yard on the farm of Potterland, the site is scarcely visible. it is traditionally reported that the late Revd. [Reverend] John McClelland of Kelton had said that the last minister of this chapel was called McClelland.

"There is also on the S.E. [South East] boundary of the parish the vestige of an ancient chapel & church yard called "Kirkmirren" now entirely neglected and of which nothing is known but the locality and the name, in ancient times it probably formed a distinct parish, tho' [though] it is said to have been distinguished as a Chapel of Ease".
