A small river having its rise in the County of Ayr. and running in southerly direction, in its Course receiving numerous tributaries, passing Carsphairn Village on the East, where it changes its course and flows for a considerable distance in an Easterly direction, leaving Marscalloch house on the East and again runs due South, receiving Polmaddy Burn about 1/2 mile above its Conflux with the "Water of Ken."-
