005 | An ancient Cairn or tumulus on the farm of Holme of Daltallochan Situated a Short distance West of the Public road leading form Carsphairn to Dalmellington. It is of an Irregular Shape, its form being rather defaced by the carting away part of the Stones of which it was Composed. On its center is a Sheep Pen. History and even tradition are Silent as to the date or reason of its erection but Similar tumuli have been opened in the adjoining parish of Minnigaff And graves thereby exposed in which human bones has been found |
