017.03 | The Site of this Tumulus was pointed out by Mr. James Smart who was born near the place and "herded" the ground when a boy, he says he remembers the place very well, and the Tumulus was composed of Stones &c inside of which found several urns. Mr. Smart does not remember seeing any portion of the Camp adjoining. James Tindal Esq, Procurator Fiscal, Stonehaven, says that in his younger days (About 60 years ago) the place marked was generally spoken of as the "Campo", but he does not remember seeing anything on the ground like a camp as the ground was at that date under cultivation. __ |
