021.15 | The parish Church, built in 1738, repaired in 1784 and again in 1831. It is built on the site of the church in which the Regalia and Royal jewels of Scotland were hid for some years, they having been conveyed from Dunnottar Castle by stratagem, by Mrs Granger, wife of the then Incumbent of the parish, and hid by him under the pulpit of the Church. "After being thus rescued" (from Dunnottar Castle) "the regalia were kept, sometimes in the church of Kinneff concealed under the pulpit, and at other times in a double-bottomed bed in the Manse till the Restoration, in 1660, when they were delivered to Mr George Ogilvie who restored them."
