Stone Cists found here | (Several Stone Coffins found here) | 021.10 | The stones were taken away and the ground trenched for agricultural purposes, during the process of trenching a large number of Stone Coffins, Containing black unctuous earth and ashes, were found, (But no urns.) Mr Morrison says that the place has always been called "The Law" and is considered to have been the Seat of judgment for criminals who were afterwards executed on the adjoining hill. (See Gallow Hill Arbuthnott Parish.) It may have been used for this purpose, but originally it appears to have been a place of Sepulchre, and is a very fine Tumulus. [Signed] B. Render. Corp.
