016.15 | In the year 1849 there were found near the Lodge at Glenbervie House, two stone cists. In one of the cists there was a quantity of bones piled cross ways and a Skull placed on the top, and an Urn (see sketch) with a quantity of ashes in it was found inside the cist at the west end. __ The other cist was within a few feet of the above named, it contained a quantity of dust, such as is generally formed by mouldering bones. There was no urn inside this Cist, but an urn was found close by it which also contained ashes, this last named urn was similar in every respect to the one above named, it was broken, but the fragments and the urn above named are in possession of Badenoch Nicholson Esqr, Glenbervie House. __ The longitudinal position of the Cists was East and West. __ B.
