019.01 "In the hill above Fasque there is a Spring of a distinctly Chalybeate Character." (New Stat Act. [Statistical Account]) This Spring rises on the South Side of the Grampian Mountains near the Source of the East Grain, and is well known in the district as the Well of Cardowan, it is much frequented by the people, for its supposed Medicinal Quality. The Water of this Spring appears to be much impregnated with Iron. -
