and the "Statistical account", but
Can not find any reference to the
"Burying Ground", or a Chapel. As
it is essential that the Sites of all
antiquities should appear on the
Ordnance Plans, will you be
pleased to inform me if you can
give any information on the above,
or if you have any documents
relating to it? --
I have obtained from the people
in the neighbourhood the name of
"Nether Mains of Arnhall", for the
Cottages near Chapelton, will
you be pleased to inform me

I have no documents whatever
on the subject, for my "Charters"
as far back as 1631, speak of
the "toun and lands of Chapeltown"
but nothing of a "Chapel".

I think this is a correct
name
