Mr J Willocks (Muirton)
025.13 A large stone in a reclining position on the West side of the Road leading from the house of Brotherton to Johnshaven.
It is well known as The Floors Stone, and Mr Scott the proprietor of the ground considers it to be of the same antiquity and origin as The Cloch. There is no mention of this Stone in any of the Parochial documents, but it is evidently one of those stones known to Antiquarians as Standing Stones. The Floors stands about 4 Feet above the surface of the ground and inclines to the East, it is about 15 inches by 18 in thickness. B. Render Corp R.E. [Corporal Royal Engineers] 2/11/63
