Cairn Cairn Mr John Troupe, Hillhead, Cults.
Mr Alexander Hepburn. Damhead
Mr George Farquhar. Middleton
003.08 This cairn is situated 15 chains due east from Hillhead farm house and is the most northerly of a group of three Cairns lying in nearly a straight line of a 1/4 mile in length. This cairn presents a large base with an irregularly flat surface, showing that it had never been finished, or that the upper part had been taKen away. Mr John Troupe says it has not been altered for the last 50 years, a statement confirmed by the appearance of the stones which are covered with ancient moss and lichen.
