020.16 A fine Spring of Clear water Situated in Chapel Waird Wood. It is best known as the Saint's Well, but there is no known dedication.

020.16 It is traditionally reported that a Chapel Stood at the place marked, and a portion of ground near the site is Supposed to be the Site of the burying ground, as the corn, grass &c. which grows on the place is always of a richer nature than in any other part of the field. I called on Lord Arbuthnott relative to this, and he Said that he had heard it Spoken of as the Site of a Chapel, and that the Surrounding names appear to verify the tradition. There is no mention of the above in any of the Parochial documents.
