021.10 A small Hillock situated about ­1/4 of a mile North of Auchendrich. The farmer can see nearly every portion of his farm from this ridge, hence the origin of the name Viz The Overseer's Knap.

Mr James Rankin (Auchendrich) 021.10 Mr. Rankin states that when he cultivated the ground at the places marked 1 and 2 on trace, he took down two Cairns, and at the bottom of each Cairn he found a Stone Coffin containing black unctuous earth, but no bones nor urns.
