Cairn | Cairn | 020.12 | There are the remains of a large Cairn on the highest part of the ground in this wood. I have not seen any record of it in the documents relating to the Parish, but it is evidently of the same origin as those on the Hill of Garvock, from which it can be seen. It is now grown over with heather and weeds, but from the appearance of the base it Seems to have been a very large Cairn. [Signed] B. Render Corp. R.E. [Corporal Royal Engineers] | |
