It is not known in this locality at or about what time this building was erected, but it is supposed to have been in existence from the time of Saint Columba in the 6th to the early part of the 16th Century. The graveyard is still in use, but none, but a small portion of the building is now above ground namely that of the South-west end of Chapel on Captain Fraser's property.
