This name signifies "Monks Burying Place", and is situated on the south side of Fladda Chuain Island. It would be difficult now to determine without actually breaking up the ground, whether the particular spot pointed out as the burying place, ever was such, but it is traditionally known that the monks from the monastery of Saint Columba in the Isle of Skye, buried some of their deceased members at this place. The Island on which this burying place is situated, and the surrounding smaller Isles, are all the property of Captain Fraser. |
