082 | A hill of great emminence, situated from 3 to 4 miles north of Loch Garry, between Glen Garry and Glenmorriston; from the summet of which the Grants of Glen Morriston watched the movements of the other clans during the engagements, at Inverlochy and elsewhere. A fiery cross being their signal for the clan to gather to the place of rendezvous, where they met at the call of their chief, ready for action. Hence, the hill has been called Mam a'Chroisg, or Cross hill. |
