012 This building which consists of a middle block and two wings two storeys respectively stands at the south side of Hill Terrace. It was erected in 1845 by voluntary subscription with assistance from the committee of the Privy Council.

012 This building stands on the west side of the Ness facing the water half a mile above the Suspension Bridge. It is a very handsome edifice consisting of a centre block three storeys high and two wings two storeys respectively, It was opened in 1803 for the use of the Northern Counties of Scotland by voluntary Subscriptions and is "supported by parochial and individual contributions". Formerly a Lunatic Asylum was attached but for the last two or three years it has been used exclusively as an hospital.
