053 | A small well situated about 5 chains south of Invermoriston Inn, some years ago it was cleaned out, and a stone slab erected near it by the late proprietor, this slab is without any inscription. There is very little known respecting the origin of the name, but it is supposed that St Columbus during his travels in this country used water from this well for consecrating, and in other religious rites and ceremonies. |
