069 | On the summit of the above described Knowe [Tom a' Chu-thair] there is to be seen what appears to have been an enclosure of an oval form, the wall of which has long since crumbled down, and is now grown over with heather and grass, giving it the appearance of an earthen embankment. On South West may be seen and opening which is generally supposed to have been the entrance, on one side of this opening is a stone fixed upright in the ground, which may have served as one of the gate posts, immediately within this entrance there are a few flat stones embedded in the ground which are supposed to cover the graves. The supposition is, that it has been a family burying ground. The date of its being disused cannot be ascertained. |
