various | A large rapid stream having its source from the bold and mountainous district lying between Badenoch and the Great Glen, at a point 9 miles in a straight line east from the middle of Loch Ness. Its banks, except in Strathnairn, are very rugged and steep and generally shaded with trees. It falls into the Moray Firth at Nairn after a course, chiefly in a north easterly direction, of about 30 miles. |
