121 This chapel is built in a commanding Situation about 20 chains N [North] of Arisaig Inn. It is an oblong structure, having a square tower at its western end, is built of stone, and slated is also in good repair. It was erected in 1849 and dedicated to St [Saint] Mary and contains sufficient accommodation for 600 persons.

121 A short distance South of it are the remains of an old chapel dedicated to St [Saint] Mary of Iona, nothing is known locally of the date of its erection, but it contains a monumental stone having the date 1641, built in its walls, also several other ancient stones. A small graveyard is attached to the old chapel.
