This is a large stream which rises in several small branches on the hills forming the boundary between Perth and Inverness, and about four miles North West of the junction of the counties of Perth, Aberdeen and Inverness
For the first six miles of its course, it runs in a direct eastern line, when it makes an abrupt turn to the north, which course it continues until it falls into the River Spey, at the Boat of Inch village about seven miles below Kingussie
It is about twenty miles in length It is an anglicised name
Previous to this river falling into the Spey, it forms for a considerable distance, the boundary between the parishes of Alvie, and Kingussie and Insh. |
