various | The parish of Abernethy and Kincardine is in the Presbytery of Abernethy and synod of Moray. it is bounded on the east and south-east by the parish of Kirkmichael in the County of Banff; on the north and north-west by the parish of Cromdale, Inverallan & Advie, counties of Elgin & Inverness; on the west and south west by the parish of Duthil and Rothiemurchus in the County of Inverness. The parish of Abernethy and Kincardine formed originally two separate and distinct parishes viz:- Abernethy which was partly in Elginshire and partly in Inverness-shire; and Kincardine which was wholly in Invernessshire. These two parishes were united for all civil and Ecclesiastical purposes, but the date of their union is not known. There are no detached portions of the parish of Abernethy and Kincardine nor are there any detached portions of another parish situated within it. The whole of Abernethy & Kincardine Parish has been placed within the County of Inverness by "The Inverness and Elgin County Boundaries Act 1870". |
