040 | "In the Castle of West Braky there existed a memorial of the Frasers - a Coat of Arms with the date 1581" New Statistical Account. The Castle stands to the south of the Farmhouse in a green field. The coat of arms above the entrance on the east side in the angle of the building is illegible now. The roof is still entire of Braky Castle, but in other respects it is in a ruinous condition inside the building. The walls are also entire from the ground to the roof & several windows with iron bars are on all sides but the north. The winding stone stair in the castle is capable of being walked upon, but all the interior roofing except the stone arched roof the lower story is dilapidated. Part of the bottom floor is converted into a pigsty |
