022 A well known name applied to a water or river, rising in the north of the parish of "Kirkmichael, Perthshire", flows southward, and bears the name of River Shee, till it forms part of the Boundary between the counties of Perth and Forfar, thence it is called Black Water to its junction with the River Ericht, near Bridge of Cally.

"At the extremity of the Parish (Alyth) there
is a beautiful little country surrounded with
hills & intersected by the Black Water or Ericht, which
in summer has a delightful appearance. That
part of it connected with this Parish called the
"Blacklunnans" lies in the county of Angus."
