054 | [Situation] Extending northward from Nethergate to Overgate. A clean & well paved street of ample breadth, except for a short distance at the North end where it becomes contracted by the position of some of the older houses. It extends Northward from St. Andrews Roman Catholic Church in Nethergate to the junction of North Tay Street & Overgate. On its East side is a range of superior dwelling houses 3 storeys high with walled in Areas in front & on the same side is situated the old Gaelic Church, now known by the name of St. John's or Cross Church. On the West side is also a range of good dwellings 2 & 3 Storeys high & a small square known as "Tay Square". The houses are chiefly occupied by very respectable families & belong to various individuals |
