[Reverend] Stephen Keenan, & Colin Symers Esqr. whose statements were nearly similar to the foregoing. But in consulting the historical accounts of Dundee and in referring to the public records, &c, of the town there appears no authentic record of this house or establishment, and in the historical accounts the truth of the existence of such an establishment appears based on the supposition that such must have existed from the name Magdalene Green. But in a report lately made by Mr. C Innes advocate in a case of Lawsuit between the presbytery of Dundee and that of the magistrates he states that "A Chapel of St Mary Magdalen stood on the west of the town", And as this gentleman appears to have made great research concerning the religious establishments of Dundee and as he has not mentioned a Convent of St Mary Magdalene it is safe to conclude that there is no record of such now extant on what authority he has made mention of a Chapel of St Mary Magdalene does not appear [continued on page 63]
