The Nave is plainly built without ornament. The architecture displays no particular features being modern & mixed and unpretending in appearance This edifice was erected originally in connection with the Established Church, before the "disruption" but in 1845 was sold for debt and was purchased by the present Free Church Congregation. In front of the Church is a small & neat burying ground towards the North West corner of which is a very fine monument of white marble erected to the memory of an eminent divine The Revd. [Reverend] R M McCheyne who is reputed to have been eminently successful in the ministry & respected by all classes in Dundee
