A narrow roadway or entry lying off the S. [South] side of Hawkhill & leading to several small dwelling houses (some in the cottage style) with gardens attached & also to some workshops & a Timber yard in the occupation of the Messrs. Anderson & Chalmers. Joiners &c. The cottages are cheifly occupied by Mechanics & Laborers.

A small Court lying off the South side of Hawkhill, in which there are 5 or 6 small dwelling houses of an inferior description occupied principally by Laboring men.
It is entered by a passage under the houses fronting the Hawkhill and its appearance is very unprepossessing.
