This Institution which was partly erected in 1820 by voluntary contributions, is situated on the East side of Albert Street & consists of a large main building running East & West, to which is attached the residence of the Medical Superintendent and Matron, flanked by four lateral wings containing male & female wards, - The remaining buildings within the limits of the establishment, comprise a Chapel, office houses & other minor but necessary erections. The Asylum is incorporated by Royal Charter & under the management of a board of Directors & Supervision of the Commissioners of Lunacy. Resident Superintt.
