Sir,
Observing that in the Dundee division of the large scale
Ordnance Map, the Church, under my charge, is designated "Irvingite
Chapel" instead of "Catholic & Apostolic Church", the title given to the
Engineers; I feel it right to call your attention to the error, being
assured that you will not willingly allow the Ordnance Maps
to convey a designation which any Christian body considers to
be false & injurious.
It would be very obliging if you wd [would] cause this error to be
corrected - at least, not repeated in the small scale Maps
which may be published - as the name is one which is
only used as a term of reproach, & against which we
earnestly protest.
