[parish] of Dundee A large & important manufacturing Village adjoining the Town of Dundee on the North West side & containing a population of between 4 & 5000. It is situated in the Parishes of Dundee & Liff & Benvie & within the Parlaimentary Boundary of the former. It contains several good Streets besides numerous detached Villas with gardens & one very extensive linen manufactory, has four or five Churches of different denominations. There are 6 or 7 schools in the Village maintained by various sects & the Streets are clean, partly paved & lighted with gas. |
