A small Village situated on the Dundee to Brechin road, and near which the Parish Church of Carmyllie is situated, the Elliot Water runs through it, and supplies the Mill.
There is a small corn mill in this village having a Mill Dam attached. The miller's name is Alexander Catter.

This is a very old church (with graveyard attached) the age is not known but the Revd [Reverend] Mr Bell, the minister states that the outer walls formed part of the old R.C. [Roman Catholic] chapel which stood there before, it is seated for about 700, and there are about 340 Communicants.
