The lower part of the North Wing is let as shops, the upper as a Public Hall; and the South Wing is let as an Inn

This is supposed to be the site of the Town Cross; it is situated in the Centre of the High Street in front of the Townhouse, and consists of a Cross within a Circle formed by a peculiar arrangement of the Pavement

The word, "supposed", need not be used as the place
is permanently marked in the pavement. It was evidently
the Market Cross and therefore the above is the proper
designation to be written on plan.
