025 This pier and harbour was erected in the year 1462 by the Earl of Wemyss, and rebuilt by Admiral Wemyss in the year 1837.
The work is done in a strong tough manner and will admit vessels of 200 tons at high water formerly large quantities of salt and coal was shipped at it, but at present very little is done, except as a shelter for fishing boats.
