A small village forming a Southeastern suburb to that of Lundin Mill from which it is only divided by arow of Gardens_ It consists of a double row of unconnected dwelling houses, with three ornate fragments of rows at the Eastern end of the Same, all the buildings are one story high only, all in good repair and Occupied by Handloom Weavers. each dwelling has asmall piece of garden ground attached to it they are feus of the Estate of Largo the property of Mr D Dundas they were feu'd off it about the year 1821. and in commemoration of some Victory " gained by General Durham then proprietor of Largo Estates" at Emsdorfe they got the given name.
