[Object] A. Harbour A Small harbour Situated at the Junction of the Keil Burn with the Firth of Forth Only vessels of light burden can come into it at high tides it is bound on the West side by a narrow ridge of Rocks and on the east Side a Small Stone pier about 350 links long projects into the bay along it. the pier is a substantial Stone building built and kept in repair by the Successive proprietors of Largo Estate. Only three Small Vessels employed in Coasting trade belong to it formerly a steam boat plied twice each day between it and Newhaven this is discontinued. It formerly had a trade with Rotterdam & Norway, in Wood Salt Coal and Iron. this is also ended. At present there are almost Neither imports or exports, to or from it. |
