A small village consisting of a short row of dwelling houses from one to two storys high and situated on both sides of the public road from Leven to Colinsburgh and a short row of houses along the wall enclosing the parish Church with a similar one along the line of Public road to Cupar which branches off the former. The buildings are from one to two storys high generally all in good repair and each having a small garden attached to it There is 2 public houses & one Inn with one of the former being also a grocer shop there are two other grocer's shops. two cloth shops & the population is about 413 and are Handloom weavers. and agricultural Labourers. with a few tradesmen. There is two Churches in the village one school a Post office, and an Hospital._ It is the property of Mrs W Dundas of Largo House. and feus off the same.
