024 [Situation] Running Easterly past Tillybreak.
A small crooked River rising in the vicinity of Lochore, running in an Easterly direction and joins the River Leven near to Cameron Bridge.
This river on Maps and every place I have seen it referred to in print is either River Orr, Orr Water or Orr River but it evidently takes its name from Lochore where it rises and in its vicinity near Thornton there is a place called Strathore. The latter Authorities quoted believe the Orthography of the River, Loch and District Should be the same, and recommend Ore but they are against all usage, I am unable to reconcile the differences.
