A Small Common at the Eastern extremity of Leslie Village, it is used by the inhabitants, occasionally, as a Play ground but was formerly used for the Same purpose to a much greater extent. Leslie Green is said in the New Statistical Account to be the scene of the Pem by King James, styled Christ's Kirk on the Green. There is an old Oak tree on this Green Said by Revd. [Reverend] Mr. Nicol to have been planted by the Same King James, and a Stone called the Bull Stone to which these Animals were tied to be attacked by Dogs in former times. |
