Two stones on the South side of the Turnpike Road near the entrance to Strathendry House they are between 3 and 4 feet high and are irregular shaped without any marks - they are said by the Authorities quoted, to mark the places where Chiefs Killed in battle between the Danes and Caledonians are buried "There are several large Stones erected on different eminences. Lately one of these was taken up and Search made when a large Stone Coffin with bones in it was discovered." New Stat. Acct.
