A long narrow ridge on which Stone Battle Axes and Flint Arrow heads were found at different times. Mr Downy the writer of part of the New Stat. Acct. [Statistical Account] for this parish supposes these remains to be Roman and Caledonian.
[Note] It is upwards of 60 years since these things (Battle Axes &c.) were got, but I have not succeeded in finding any person who is able to point out the spot where they were found (signed) John Waddle
