The ruins of Arnot Tower is at present the property of Thomas Bruce Esqr. of Arnot. The only remains of the building now standing or discernible is that shewn on trace. It is generally believed by the people in the neighbourhood to have been a Baronial residence of the Arnot family in olden times. The last Occupant was Sir David Arnot who resided there about the middle of the 16th Century. The object is popularly known as Arnot Tower. [Note] Copied from examiners remarks D.K.
