So called from the Princess Margaret afterwards Queen of Malcolm III, having landed there, in her flight from England. 039 | The Remains of a battery supposed by the Gentlemen whose names are given in the Column of Authorities, to have been erected by Oliver Cromwell's Army in the year 1651. The walls of which are almost level with the ground, it having the embrasures still visible. It appears to have been built at the same time with the Fort on the west end of the same Island (Garvie) and of similar materials. It is of smaller dimensions than the ruin at the west end. |
